A client from California recently asked me If I have seen more foreclosures with the recent economic downturn.  Although sales are down, prices in the Sound Shore area have held fairly well up to this point, and local homes approaching foreclosure are still few and far between. Contact the Westchester County Clerk’s office for more information or check online with “pay for access” sites such as www.realtytrac.com or www.foreclosure.com. But buyer beware…the few local “pre foreclosure” homes I found have a few issues related to lack of maintenance, and these are always “AS IS” sales. As a recent article pointed out, for every success story, there can be 5 horror stories!
